Amphilophus Citrinellus - Red Devil
These fishes are definitely not "community". The only
other species (or even members of their own kind) that can be kept with them are
other large, smart,and/or very fast fishes. They can kill and consume most species, even good-sized spiny and/or armored catfishes. Furthermore, there are some
"extra-aggressive" individuals that become incorrigible. This one is called "Satan" and any person wanting to put their hand in his tank, do so at their own risk...........he has drawn my blood on a couple of occasions. That said, fish, like humans, are individuals, and I have encountered the odd placid red devil, and "odd" is the appropriate term here.............they don't get their common name without reason.
