Edge Of The World

One of only three shots I managed at the Edge OF The World, Tasmania, due to windblown sand and spray. This is at the mouth of the Arthur River with a nice little obstacle in the way, if you’re negotiating in fog or the dark, and I didn’t see any warning beacons! The sea west of Tasmania is the longest uninterrupted expanse of ocean on the globe. From Argentina the currents sweep unimpeded more than halfway around the planet until they hit this point.
I cast my pebble onto the shore of Eternity
To be washed by the Ocean of Time
It has shape, form and substance.
It is me
One day I will be no more
But my pebble will remain here
On the shore of Eternity
Mute witness for the aeons
That today I came and stood
At the edge of the world.”
