I managed only 3 shots of this amazing wild and mysterious location, due to the howling wind, salt spray and stinging windblown sand…........my camera survived, I very nearly didn’t. Huge logs, washed down the Arthur River litter the beach. They rarely leave for long…......... offshore winds carry them out to sea, only for them to again be returned to the beach in an onshore wind.

The sea west of Tasmania is the longest uninterrupted expanse of ocean on the globe. From Argentina the currents sweep unimpeded more than halfway around the planet until they hit this point.
